She laughed whole heartedly this time and took his hand in hers, looking him in the eye, “I don’t want to go home,” she spoke a little more seriously, “I’m fine.” She smiled to reassure him and then tugged his hand a little, “Can we do something? Like…go to the park?”

“Together?” He grinned sheepishly, the gesture surprising him. He didn’t pull away, but was still left in a kind of shock. “That sounds nice, there’s a park not too far from here. We can go to that one.”  The blonde held her hand gently, going to her side. “If we’re lucky we’ll find a street vendor on our way there. Mm.” He exhaled deeply, imagining the delicious food they sold first hand.

Again, she laughed awkwardly as he laughed, to not come off so cold. She blushed a little and shook her head, “No, it’s okay, I-uh I don’t really want to go home if it’s okay with you?” She looked down, hoping she didn’t seem so pathetic to him as she pictured in her mind.

Caught off guard, he raised a brow with a questioning, “Mm?” kind of sound. “You’re tired though, it would make sense for you to want to rest.”  It wasn’t something he could argue with, he wouldn’t admit it, but he knew this much was true. “I’m just a little worried about you. ” He admitted quietly. “

She hummed a little listening to him and fiddled with her hands, “Familiar? Maybe…” Her eyes wandered around nervously once he brought her tears up again and she shook her head, “Honestly, I’m just extremely tired, it’s making me emotional.” She laughed awkwardly and ended it cringing slightly at how she sounded.

There was no point in constantly prodding, so he simply brushed the subject off for now.  "Long night, huh?“ He leaned off of the wall, stretching slightly. "Ah, you should have slept in for the day then.. Its not safe for you to be out like this. You could get into quite a bit of trouble.” He chuckled with a gentle shake of his head. “How about I walk you back to your house?”

She followed behind him, keeping her head down. When he opened the door for her, she held back a smile and just nodded, exiting the coffee shop. She gave off a small smile though when he introduced himself and she repeated his name to herself in a whisper. “It’s a nice name,” she muttered. She stood for a second in silence before deciding to give her own introduction, “I’m Jeon Hyosung,” her voice was quiet and she would be surprised if he managed to catch any of it.

Having been watching her mouth, he caught every word. The new found acquaintanceship made him comfortable enough to push the conversation forward.  Besides, if he had gone on without knowing her name he would have risked another- if not multiple- awkward moments. “Hyosung.” He repeated after her. He liked the way her name sounded on his lips. “You look familiar. ” He leaned against the sturdy wall of the shop. “Mind telling me why you were near tears in there? Its just odd that such a pretty girl would waste her time crying.”

If it was anyone else she probably would have shot them a glare, pushed them away and walked off without anything more to say. However, with this man, she felt sort of inclined to stay with him and maybe not talk to him but listen to him. She nodded shyly at him, waiting for his next move.

With much relief he led her towards the door. He made quick, but graceful looks over his shoulder being doubtful that she would follow. When he finally reached the door, he opened it for her. Once they were outside, he exhaled. “I haven’t introduced myself, have I? I’m Choi Minki.” He bowed his head slightly. He wanted to ease the awkwardness of it all.  For this reason, he flashed a smile. If she had blinked, she would have missed it.

She stumbled slightly, falling into him a little and tried to balance herself. “W-what?” She whispered, feeling a little weak kneed. Her eyes gazed at his hand on her wrist and she shook it free.

He pulled his hand back, holding it close to his chest. His face washed over with embarrassment. He would have let out a false laugh if not for the awkwardness of the situation. His eyes fluttered towards the people, hoping no once noticed. He took a deep breath and looked back at her. “Lets talk outside?” He looked towards the door, giving her a pleading look.

She nodded slightly at the napkin and took it, thanking him quietly. She held onto the napkin just in case tears threatened to emerge from her eyes again. However, when he asked about if she wanted to talk, her mind and heart both tensed up. She stood from her seat without word and attempted to leave him.

Her reaction caught him by surprise evident in the way he got to his feet, nearly stumbling. He reached out for her wrist, his fingers barely grazing the pale skin. “Hey!” He quieted himself, not wanting to create a scene bigger than the first. He took her by the wrist to stop her, trying to make the action look  far less aggressive than it seemed in his head.  Once he got his fingers secured around her wrist, he gently tugged her back.

She sat a little speechless and stared at him for some moments, trying to think of what to say in response. She shook her head slightly and tried to avoid the topic of her tears, “I don’t like coffee,” she put bluntly. Her eyes then moved to look down once more, trying to hide any emotions that would seep through her cracks. She muttered to herself, telling herself that she was fine, that everything was fine.

The blonde hummed softly, loosely gesturing to his half empty cup. “What about black tea?” He went silent for a second time, inquiring her features once more. “Somethings telling me your outburst had nothing to do with you being tired. Would you like to talk about it?” He tilted his head, sliding a neatly folded napkin her way.

She looked up with widened eyes and blushes furiously at the man in front of her. “Sorry,“ she apologised, “I-uh, slip of the tongue.” She continued to try and defend herself, tripping over her words. Eventually, she just gave up and sighed into her hands, “I’m just…so tired.“ She bit her lip trying to stop it from trembling and held back a couple forming tears, blinking them away. She took a taste of the muffin in front of her to prevent anymore excess words flowing out so carelessly.

"They sell coffee here. Caffeine’ll  wake you up some.” He drummed his fingers rhythmically onside of his cup of tea in thought, glancing at her face every now and then. His lips tugged downwards into a tight little pout. For a second he thought he saw tears in her eyes. “Are you?…” The words escaped him momentarily, allowing him time to look towards the counter in the front. “You wanted to be cuddled.” He mummered softly as if to remind himself. “That isn’t what a tired person might ask for.

pocky-hyosungie:

She blinked slowly as she entered the coffee shop, holding her eyes closed for a little longer than usual. It was a very quiet morning, something that she appreciated considering the fact that she felt half dead. When she opened her eyes, she lazily walked to the counter, ordering a muffin and then taking it to the nearest table where she rested her head. After a minute or so she looked around at the coffee shop and internally whined about how tired and lonely she was. “I demand someone give me cuddles!“ She suddenly blurted out in the shop, causing heads to turn. She blushed at turned her head down acting as if those words had not come from her mouth. “Cuddles, hm?” A soft voice spoke from across the table.

Onlookers eyed her cautiously, some of their lips even lifted in an amused smirk. It was obvious that they were judging her for her intrusive outburst. Who wouldn’t? Only when they turned away did the blonde begin to speak again. "Silly girl,“ he let out with a single shake of his head and a long sigh. What he found silly was not the context of her request, but the way she expressed it. Had she not spoke out in the manner that she did, he would have probably found her utterly adorable. "You can’t just  yell out like that in public. It isn’t fair to others." His face betrayed no emotion, but the tone of his voice was one of sincerity.  At first, he assumed she just wanted given attention.  At the sight of her face though, she wasn’t someone who was simply crying out for attention— at least not in the traditional sens. In actuality,  this made the blonde feel pretty bad for her. He knew  all too well what it was like to be alone. It wasn’t something he particularly disliked, but for some reason loneliness seemed to bother others. Though, even if he did dislike being alone he would have never yelled out such a request in front of a bunch of strangers.
