She jumped slightly as it was placed on her hand but slowly opened one eye before opening both fully once she thought it was safe. She admired the turtle held in her hand and gave off a small smile. “Cute,” she muttered.
“Hm…” The animal seemed secured in her hands and the blonde began to doubt that she’d accidentally drop it. With this reassurance he placed his hand on his leg. “Do you dislike animals or something?” He tilted his head questioning, reaching his hand over to touch the turtle’s shell again. “You don’t find them as… fascinating as I do?”
She winced and nodded, she knew she wasn’t getting out of this so easily. Her eyes closed tightly and she reached her hands out for him to place the animal on her palms and breathed slowly, “Quickly, just give it here.”
He shook his head once more, chuckling. Her reaction was the equivalent of the turtle being… well, some kind of monster. He found it very silly. He already thought up something clever to say referring to this, but he kept it to himself not wanting to scare her just yet. “Okay, don’t hold your breathe.” He carefully placed the shelled creature into her hand with care.
